MAY 21, 2011 = JUDGEMENT DAY?

Not to scare anyone, but I've been seing billboards on I-95 and other roadways that warns us of the upcoming Judgement Day on May 21, 2011. You're probably wondering what they're trying to say. Well, basically, there is a group of people (not me) that believes God will return on said date and take away the world that he once created. According to the Bible, God will return on the 7000th year. And according to this group (who tried to get their message across by setting up a bunch of billboards everywhere), the 7000th year is May 21, 2011. Yes, this year and 6 days from now. Believe it?

I surely don't. However, let's take a look at what's been happening around the world lately. Libya, Syria, Egypt, Ivory Coast, and Yemen are at war with it's civilians. Pakistan, Afganistan, and Iraq are at war with either terrorists or western nations. Don't forget about the massive earthquake a couple of months ago in Japan and the near-record-breaking number of tornadoes that killed over 300 people in the southern states of the United States. Now, they're dealing with floods. So, what's next? The hurricane season is just around the corner. Let's see how bad that will be this year...

Did I scare you yet? Don't worry if you don't believe in superstition. May 21, 2011 will probably be just a normal Saturday. So, just live life the way you would on a typical Saturday. If it makes you feel any better, the Mayan calendar isn't scheduled to end until December 21, 2012. Oh wait, isn't that around the corner too? I guess we better start building a bomb shelter now then.
