There were a lot of hype about this movie. Most movie review sites such as Moviefone and IMDB gave this movie a near perfect score. This site, however, is not one of them.
According to Hollywood.com, the movie has already made over $60 million since it was released on Friday. Somone even said that it was the best movie of the millenium. The "movie man" from Sixsecondreviews.com said (on Q102) you will have to see it the second time to truely enjoy the movie.
Well, on Saturday night, I went into the theatre with a lot of expection and was hoping that I wouldn't be disappointed. Since I'm not going to spoil the movie for people who hasn't seen it yet, I'm going to keep this review really short. Throughout the movie, I could NOT stop thinking of the Matrix. I'm not saying that it is a copycat of the Matrix. However, Inception was more like the Architect's (of the Matrix) role well-explained. If I didn't understand that, then I don't know how you will understand Inception.
In the end, Inception is a smart movie designed to manipulate the average movie-goer's mind with so many twists that one can turn. Perhaps I am not one of those movie-goers because I did not walk out of the theatre with a "wow" in my head nor a team of "extractors" in my dream that night. The movie ended with a surprising twist that most people probably didn't understand. I will not tell you what that is. Just get ready for the sequel next summer; I guarantee it.
